Ricardo P. Câmara Leal is professor of finance at the School of Bussiness from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro COPPEAD/ UFRJ and researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development CNPq. He was one of the founders of the Brazilian Society of Finance and its first president. Doctor of Business Administration has published books and has received awards in Brazil and abroad, mainly focusing on the capital markets, corporate financing, IPO and corporate governance. Among its publications are those in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance and Corporate Governance. He is co-author of several books and member of the editorial board of academic publications in Brazil and abroad. He served as consultant to the brokerage Charles Schwab, the World Bank, IDB, ECLAC and OECD abroad and the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance, the ANP, Petrobras and others in Brazil. Copper was director for two consecutive terms. He has taught in the U.S. for several years, working at Georgetown University and the University of Nevada. He is currently Associate Professor at the International Institute on Government, Management and Policy at Georgetown University and Senior Fellow of the Academic Network of the Global Corporate Governance Forum. He was a visiting professor at the University of San Diego, the New University of Lisbon, the University of Évora and the Pontifical University of Chile PUC-Chile. Is senior researcher of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance, Center for Studies in Governance and Fipecafi Studies Center at Private Capital EAESP / FGV. |
